Good posting strategy is a key factor for every successful social media marketing campaign. But how often should Real Estate agents post on social media? Daily? Weekly? 5-times a day? after all, posting not frequent enough will disappoint your audience. on the other hand, posting too often will annoy your audience encouraging them to unfollow you. In this article, we studied the current existing literature on the web and then compared their findings to our survey and database info.

Literature on posting frequency on social media suggests that Real Estate agents need to find the perfect balance between posting too many times and too few at the risk of being invisible.

How Often Should Real Estate Agents Post on Social Media

A study by social media marketing service provider Socialbakers showed 5 to 10 posts per week get the best results.

Another study by Track Social found that crossing the once-per-day mark causes a remarkable drop in audience response. A brand making several posts twice a day receives 57% fewer likes and 78% fewer comments per post. The drop-off continues as more posts are added in the day.

According to our survey, most agents say they post daily on social media (53.8%) followed by once or twice a week (42.3%).

Our data analysis concluded that agents should be posting 6–8 times per week to achieve better results. This is aligned with the research done by other organizations whose findings are also mentioned above. However, it is important to remember that agents can not go more than this number. This will come across as too much on their audience’s newsfeed.

On the other hand, we analyzed top-performing agents in our dashboard (1 month) and it turns out the more you post on social media the higher the engagement rates are. it goes to show that keeping a strong presence on social media is key for Real Estate. Apart from frequency, Real Estate agents need to keep “Consistency” in mind. Posting a lot in a short period of time and then going silent for a while will only show your audience that you do not take social media seriously and chances are they will unfollow you.

How Often Should Real Estate Agents Post on Social Media: Takeaways

The literature on the web shows that posting once a day on social media for Real Estate is your best bet. Our findings also show that posting 6-8 times a week generates the best engagement. It is also important to remember that you should not post more than once a day on your social media channels as this might appear too much and annoy your audience. However, remember that on different social media platforms this rule can be bent. For example, on Twitter, your audience is more tolerant and can take more Tweets on a daily basis.
