YouTube is one of the best media Real Estate agents can use to promote their business, share valuable content with their audience, increase awareness and gain trust. This week we had Loida Velasquez with us to learn about her experience with YouTube and what he believed t works for the platform. She told us about the tips and tricks agents can use to increase Real Estate YouTube subscribers..

How She Got Started

In the beginning, Loida did not have any idea what to do and she started posting videos once in a while on YouTube. Little by little, she noticed her videos on YouTube were getting attention. Soon, like many others in the business, he learned the importance and potential of videos. She then knew videos were there to stay. After a while, her channel was well known among Real Estate agents.

How YouTube Helped Her Business

YouTube marketing has generated lots of engagement for Loida’s marketing effort so she has managed to grow a team of clients and agents that continually refer new clients and leads. Realtors using her content from other areas refer her to many clients who are not in their farming area. Providing educational material for clients and other agents is helping grow her network of people with referrals every day. This goes to show the importance of adding value and helping others.

Consistency Challenges

At the begging of her journey in YouTube marketing, Loida started with basic equipment. She had no fancy camera and used her phone to create Real Estate videos to share on YouTube. Then she promised herself to share and post one video every week on YouTube. Her friends did not take her seriously.

It was not easy to consistently share videos on YouTube. She was busy with other things, she was not in the mood, she was not ready to get in front of the camera, etc. These were some of the biggest challenges she faced in the begging to post consistently on YouTube.

She also thought outside of the box and shared videos of herself and her personal life like behind-the-scenes videos in which she pictured the process of how she handled customers and how a typical day at the office went by and people happened to love such videos.

YouTube Content Optimization

A while ago, getting exposure on Google and YouTube was much easier. All you had to do was to share some content and wait for the people to see it. However, as the internet is becoming more and more users across the world, the competition is growing more fierce. Getting exposure for content is much harder now. Therefore, Loida does her best to optimize the content she shares on YouTube to increase her chances of being seen. These tweaks include optimizing titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, and CTAs.

Titles

Titles are tightly tied to the topic of the video. Therefore talking about the more popular topics in Real Estate like How-to videos, and comparison videos are widely preferred among agents. Topic-wise, market update videos are very popular. On the other hand, Like SERP SEO, using titles that include a list of items like “10 reasons to…..” works really well on YouTube.

Thumbnails

Thumbnails should contain the title of the video along with your own face. Thumbnails are very important. In fact, they are the first thing users see while searching for a video to watch. Sometimes it is the only thing people pay attention to. using your own face on the video, make the video more authentic and will increase its chances of being watched. Loida uses her own face on the thumbnail and uses facial expressions to match the topics of the video.

Description

It is widely believed that nobody reads the video descriptions on YouTube. However, you need to put the link you want to send your viewers to within the first three lines of the description. This is done so that it provides a path for those who want to take action on the video.

Then you need to describe what the video is actually about in the description because YouTube actually scans the descriptions and assigns tags for the video that will in turn help with video exposure.

On the other hand, there are some Chrome extensions like Vidlq and TubeBuddy that will help you with descriptions, titles, and tags.

Tags

When it comes to tags on YouTube, Loida believes that the title of the video should be the first tag you should use for the video. In fact, that’s the main difference between YoUtube and social media. On social media, tags are usually short but YouTube can enjoy tags of multiple words. This goes to show you that understanding how people use a platform is very important to creating content for that platform.

CTA

Getting people to take your desired action on your videos is very important. Most people ask the viewer to follow a link in the description. However, if you have no specific link in mind you should insert your other videos at the end of the video and ask the audience to watch those videos. However, remember that the videos you suggest should add value to the current video and should be related otherwise why would anyone bother to watch another video. This way you can keep your audience watching more and more videos.

Keeping Relevant

One of the most important tips agents should keep in mind while creating content for social media and YouTube is that they have to keep relevant. Some agents think about themselves while creating content and go awry with the content which then renders the videos barely relevant to Real Estate or the audience itself.

In order to keep relevant, you need to consider your audience. But before that, you should narrow down your audience and establish your own niche audience. Then start creating localized content that resonates with your audience. This will in turn make you the go-to agent in your farming area.

Hook

In order to get people to keep watching your video, you need to have a hook at the beginning of the video. Otherwise, people will close the video after they have gotten what they are looking for. For this reason, you should say something at the beginning of the video and talk about it somewhere in the video. This is very important as it creates a sense of anticipation in the audience and keeps them watching the video. That is why most YouTubers say that they have something special to say at the end of the video.
