In 2022 there have been ~6M new home loan originations, and in 2023 there will be < 5M, ↓ from 13M in 2021. Still, the loan amounts are larger than anything seen previously and the trend might continue. The foreclosure rate is under 1.9%, which is < half of the 20-yr avg. Experts still see the avg home price to ↑ 1% in 2022, but ↓ slightly in 2023.
