High demand, rising mortgage rates and low inventory pushed home sale prices higher in SC in 2022. The median sales price for homes in the state was ~ $313K from Jan-Jul 2022. It’s ↑ 108% over the $150K median sales price during the same time frame in 2012. Cherokee County’s median price in 2022 is 2.7 times > 2012, with $210K and$77K each respectively. Also, 65,833 homes were sold in SC between Jan-Jul 2022, compared with 30,202 homes in 2012.
