Property taxes in Chicago ↑ 6.6% this year, and homeowners, picked up a bigger share of the tab. Total residential taxes in Chicago ↑ 8% this year, to $3.83B, while total commercial taxes ↑ 5.2%, to $3.82B. Chicago's homeowners now shoulder more of the tax burden than they did last year.
