US new home sales still up in May

Sales of new single‐family houses were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 696K in May. The median sales price of new houses sold was $449K, while the avg was $511.4K. The pace of the increase in prices has slowed considerably, from ↑ 24% YoY in July 2021 to ↑ 15% in May.Total existing-home sales ↓ 3.4% MoM and ↓ 8.6% YoY, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.4M.
