D-FW home listings still down from last year

Potential U.S. homebuyers are finding more properties on the market heading into the final months of 2021, but not in Dallas-Fort Worth. In the D-FW area, home inventories still ↓ ~34% YoY, and new listings ↓ 2% YoY. ( Asking prices for North Texas houses listed with agents hit a new high of $396K, ↑ 10.3% YoY. In the D-FW area, the avg home sale took just 36 days, 11% faster YoY. In Austin, new listings ↑ ~20% YoY, and San Antonio ↑ ~ 1% YoY in new home sales listings. The largest price increases are in Austin, where sellers are asking ↑ ~34% YoY. September asking home prices and change: Austin $546K, ↑ 33.6% D-FW $396K, ↑ 10.3% Houston $363K, ↑ 9.4% San Antonio $346K, ↑ 12% U.S. $380K, ↑ 8.6%
