New report shows San Antonians spend over 30% of income on rent

The report shows that the average median rent in San Antonio is $1,025, a drastic jump from $748 a month in 2012. The number of rental units available to low-income renters has decreased by 24% since 2012, or a loss of 4,878 units. Half or more than half of renters in District 2 and District 5 are burdened by the cost of rent.
