In October 2023, the City of Raleigh launched the Homeowner Rehabilitation Program, which offers up to $90,000 of forgivable loans to qualifying homeowners for home repairs. Mattie Jones and her daughter Cynthia Lyons were able to take advantage of the program to repair their 100-year-old family home. The loan funded new floors, doors, windows, cabinets, a bathroom, and a heating and cooling system. Applications are now open again for the program.
