Central NY home sales fall 37% in April; median price up 11%
In April, home sales in Central New York declined 37% from the same month last year, according to the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors. The 10th straight month of decreased sales is due to new listings and inventory of homes for sale being down, keeping competition among buyers stiff. The median sale price of the region was $200,000, up 11% from a year earlier, and in Onondaga County alone, the median sale price is now $263,000, up 9.8% from a year ago.
