SSI went out October 1. Social Security for dual beneficiaries and long-term recipients arrived October 2, moved up because October 3 was a non-working day.
Most of the US's 71.5M Social Security recipients follow the three-Wednesdays cycle, with payments on October 14, 21, and 28 by birth date.
If Social Security is paid through someone else's work record, the agency uses that person's birthday when assigning the current cycle's Wednesday payment date.
SSI serves 7.3M people and does not require work credits. Avg. monthly benefits run ~$739 for SSI, ~$2K retirement, ~$1.5K disability, ~$1.6K survivor.
On October 14, the agency is expected to confirm the annual COLA; one advocacy group's latest projection pointed to payments ↑~3.5% from Early-Q1 2027.

United States Social Security Payments by Birthday

In Q1 2017, US homeowners who sold had avg. equity gains of ↑$44K since purchase, equal to ~24% of the original price paid.
That marked the strongest avg. dollar gain and percentage return since Q3 2007, making Q1 2017 the most profitable selling period in nearly a decade.
Sellers had owned their homes an avg. ~8 yr in Q1 2017, slightly below the prior quarter's record, but above the yearly level.
Longer ownership was linked to limited move-up options, which also kept starter-home supply tight, versus a pre-recession avg. tenure near 4 yr.
There were early signs the inventory logjam might loosen, as price gains encouraged more selling and a pricing index reached another high in Mid-Q1 2017.
