In this article, Roomvu features some of the top newly proclaimed realtors in Greater Vancouver who, in past years, did not make any of the top lists.

There were more than 13,000 realtors working in the Greater Vancouver Region in 2018. The average realtor was involved in buying or selling about four condos/townhomes and three detached homes. 

The Top 1% Vancouver realtors:

Previous studies performed by the Roomvu team of data scientists have revealed that each realtor represented about 4 condos/townhomes and 3 houses in 2018. However, there are a number of agents working in much higher rates of transactions per year. Roomvu reported that the top one percent of agents in Greater Vancouver listed or bought 14.5 percent of all properties. So while the average realtor was involved in about 7 housing deals in 2018, the top 1 percent presented a staggering 57 properties on average. The New and Uprising Top Vancouver Realtors:

But there is another list of agents which is even more interesting to investigate, and that’s the list of “uprising agents”. It is not very easy to define unique criteria for the uprising term, but Roomvu has defined it as the agents who have moved steps forward at the top higher percent level for three consecutive years. For example, if an agent moves from the top 50% list of realtors to top 25% list during a year, and then from top 25% to top 10% during the next year and finally from top 10% to top 5% during the third year, he/she will be tagged as an uprising agent in our list. Out top list is defined on four different levels of top 50% (which means on the upper half of the total list), top 25%, top 10%, top 5%, and top 1%. Let us have a look at the table below which listed the uprising agents at the end of the year 2018 after three years of stepping upward. The list is defined for the Greater Vancouver area and the data was collected from the MLS database. 

This is the list of realtors starting from scratch in 2015 and ended in the top 1% in 2018. These realtors revealed the biggest jump in only three years. Although these realtors did not sell as high as the agents that were in the top 1% list for three consecutive years, they have shown a great improvement in their resume.

The second list presents the realtors starting from not being even in the top 50% in 2015 and ending in top 5% by the end of 2018. They have done an excellent job during the past 3-4 years as well, although some of them have gone down in the top list for a year in between.

The other list covers the realtors already being in the top 50% list in 2015 and moving forward up to the top 5% list. Although agents in this list had a lower jump compared to the realtors in the previous list, they have already been in the top 50% in 2015 which was a good rank yet.

The last table we are going to present is belonged to the realtors presenting fewer jumps during the years, but staying at the top-level agents’ list, or staying at their previous top list for years. The realtors in the table below have been either in the top 25% or the top 10% of realtors in the year 2015 and moved up to the top 5% or top 1% in 2018. They might not be the uprising stars based on our definition, but they surely are among the old stars working in our real estate market

There are a large number of agents moving forward and backward in the top levels during the years but not included in the lists above. The main criteria among the above tables were agents moving forward in the top list, so if an agent move down from 1% to 5% and stays in the 5% list for the last three years, he or she was not included in our tables although he/she would be among the top best realtors in Greater Vancouver.

The top lists in this article have been defined based on the number of transactions (and not the total price) the agent was involved in either as the seller’s or the buyer’s first agent in Metro Vancouver.
