Mortgage applications rose 1.7% with home purchase demand up 4%, surpassing last year's levels by 7%, despite the 30-year fixed mortgage rate reaching 6.46%, a five-week high. All loan types saw increased purchase activity. Jumbo and FHA rates also rose slightly, while refinance applications fell 1%, lowering their share to 40.8%, the lowest since mid-2025. Adjustable-rate mortgage share remained steady at 8.8%.
