The Greater Toronto Area's new home market saw a strong surge in single-family sales, reaching 781 units in July, 50% above the 10-year average, driven by an expanded HST rebate removing the 13% tax on homes up to $1 million. Meanwhile, condominium sales remained low at 237 units, 80% below average, due to rebate eligibility limits tied to construction dates. New single-family home prices fell 8.5% to $1.36 million, while condo prices rose 2.5% to $1.05 million. Inventory stood at 18,546 units, with 36.5 months of supply.
