The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Ottawa fell below $2,000 in May, reaching $1,994, down from over $2,000 in previous months. Two-bedroom rents also decreased to $2,559. Ottawa was the only major Canadian city with an annual rent increase, averaging $2,239 for all apartments. Across Canada, rents dropped 3.3%, aided by new supply, slower population growth, and economic uncertainty. Vancouver and Toronto remain the priciest markets.
