Surrey has issued 13,844 net new housing units in the past two and a half years, surpassing its target of 13,000 units by 2026, a 27.8% increase in housing supply. The city also exceeded its provincial target by issuing 5,307 units between July 2025 and June 2026, 14.4% above the goal. Initiatives include reducing red tape and modernizing processes to boost housing development.
