Millions of dollars to help with rent or a down payment available soon in Georgia county

An $8.9 million federal grant will fund 54 projects in Gwinnett County, including $10,000 down payment assistance for 20 first-time homebuyers and rental aid to prevent eviction for over 300 households. The grant also supports building 90+ affordable housing units, a new Meals on Wheels facility expanding meal service by 125,000 annually, and a $1.5 million food pantry at Hamilton Mill. Contracts and designs will begin once funds arrive.
