The home types driving Ottawa's new build surge

Ottawa's new home market saw 464 sales in August, a 55.2% increase from the previous year, with year-to-date sales up 50.4%. Townhomes led sales at 46%, with condo townhomes rising to 19%. Single-detached homes made up 34%, and condo apartments 1%. Affordability is driving buyers toward more attainable options like townhomes. The western city area accounted for 40% of sales, followed by the south at 36%.
