San Francisco saw a 7.7% rise in all-cash home purchases, driven by tech workers' wealth and equity compensation. States like Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Missouri, and Florida had the highest cash purchase shares, influenced by retirees, lifestyle buyers, and limited financing. High-cost job centers such as Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Denver had the lowest cash shares, with most buyers using mortgages. Cash purchases remain concentrated at price extremes, with over two-thirds of homes under $100,000 bought outright.
