California no longer has the fastest-growing home prices in the U.S.

New York has overtaken San Diego as the city with the fastest-growing single-family home prices, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices report. San Diego's median home prices exceeded $1 million, rising 9% from 2023, while Los Angeles saw an 8.4% increase, ranking fourth nationally. San Francisco's growth was slower at 4.3%, placing it 15th. Despite high mortgage rates, home prices rose in all tracked cities, with California's median home price surpassing $900,000 for the first time in April.
