Home sales across the Bay Area have decreased significantly due to a lack of inventory and high interest rates. According to the California Association of Realtors, overall sales have dropped by 19% compared to last year. Joanne Fraser, past president of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, has noted that fewer homeowners are opting to sell because they don't want to give up their low interest rates. In Santa Clara County, sales are down 14% and the median amount of time it took to sell a home in June was eight days. Prices have not dropped and the median home price in June was $1.825 million.
