California offers property tax deferment for some homeowners

Applications for California’s Property Tax Postponement Program for the 2026-2027 fiscal year are now available. The program allows eligible seniors, blind individuals, or those with disabilities to postpone property tax payments on their primary residence. The household income limit has increased to $57,002. Applications open October 1, 2026, and must be submitted by February 10, 2027. Participants must reapply annually and meet eligibility requirements.
