Connecticut issued over 9,800 new residential permits in 2025, the highest in two decades and nearly 3,350 more than in 2024. Stamford contributed nearly half of the increase as its downtown undergoes significant development. This marks the fourth consecutive year permits exceeded 6,000, a level rarely seen before 2022. The 2005 record remains the highest with 11,885 permits issued.
