Single-family home construction remained weak in most areas due to high material costs, interest rates, and economic uncertainty, though declines eased and small metro outlying counties saw slight growth. Multifamily construction grew in six of seven regions, with gains concentrated in large metro core and suburban counties, reflecting strong rental demand and a geographic shift toward denser markets.
