To address this, five measures are proposed: reduce taxes and fees on new homes, cut escalating development charges, speed up and digitize approval processes, better coordinate housing policies under a dedicated ministry, and focus on fixing private market barriers. Without action, the housing shortage and economic impact will worsen.
